New Delhi, 15th July, 2015: Stepathlon Lifestyle Pvt Ltd, the leading global wellness company, today announced its new Corporate Social Responsibility initiative ‘Steps for A Cause’ in association with Ketto.org, a fundraising portal. ‘Steps for A Cause’ is a fund raising opportunity that ties in with the core values of Stepathlon – which is to do good for others, while doing good for yourself. This initiative will launch at the same time as their 100 Day Race commencing on September 2, 2015. Approximately 100,000+ expected Stepathletes and their companies will be able to raise funds for a charity project of their choice, while they race around a ‘virtual world’ in the global, corporate initiative that encourages employees to be active and get fit.
When it comes to charity, a growing body of research highlights the correlation between generosity and positive health outcomes, like stress-reduction and lower blood pressure. In fact, a study published in the Journal of Economic Psychology last year, shows that donating to a cause could actually improve the giver’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
Commenting on the initiative, Ravi Krishnan, CEO, Stepathlon, says, "We at Stepathlon believe that your overall wellness is directly proportional to your productivity and hence we have been working on creating an ecosystem that promotes holistic health solutions for Corporate India. The association with Ketto.org is a strategic partnership, a natural extension to our objective of creating a healthier, happier and more productive workforce. Contributing to a cause enhances your mental and emotional wellbeing. We are confident that this partnership will allow Stepathletes to make a difference to the lives of others.”
Ketto was founded by actor Kunal Kapoor and Varun Sheth. Speaking about the association, Kunal Kapoor says, "This fundraising opportunity ties in perfectly with the core values of Stepathlon and Ketto.org of enabling and empowering people to do something of great significance, anytime and anywhere. We have associated with many valuable initiatives in the past and are extremely proud to be associated with Stepathlon.”
Stepathlon and Ketto will launch a special microsite www.Stepathlon.ketto.org to house all fundraising pages created by Stepathletes. A list of NGOs will be curated under various categories including diabetes, cancer, heart disease, women’s empowerment, education, environment and disaster relief to name a few. Stepathletes will get to pick one NGO to raise funds for during the 100 Day Race. He/she will then set a monetary target and encourage friends, family and well-wishers to contribute to his/her cause.
In addition to this, participating companies can choose to reward their top fundraisers with matching grants towards their cause.
