MediaCom has announced the appointment of Hariharan Vishwanathan (Vishi) as the Head – South. He will report to Rathi Gangappa, COO, MediaCom India. Vishwanathan takes over from Sriram Sharma who is moving to another role in Mindshare.

Mediacom India, a JV between Mr Sam Balsara and GroupM, manages a blue chip client roster including P&G, VW Group, Tata Docomo, Future Group, Dell, Shell, Makemytrip.com, Vespa, SAB Miller and Mars-Wrigley, among others. MediaCom delivers not just individual channel silo efficiencies but also connected communications system effectiveness, by developing and optimising all content as the fuel that drives high-performing systems. MediaCom measures and quantifies communications systems across paid, owned and earned through their unique Connected System Audit and Connections Simulator.
Vishwanathan started his career in JWT (then HTA) as a media planner in 1994. Since then he has worked across categories, agencies and roles in GroupM. Most recently he was part of the CTG team in GroupM.
Commenting on the new role, Vishi said, “I am excited to join MediaCom and I look forward to learning and applying their systems thinking approach. Working across agencies and functions in GroupM has been an enriching experience and I am happy that I will continuing to do just that at MediaCom.”
